The Arrival

Soooo, I'm off to an interesting start. Seriously though, let me tell you.

The flight was delayed like 30 minutes due to 2 people not showing up and thus having to unload and reload all of everyone's luggage so that they could search for two little pieces of checked luggage. WTF?

So we've arrived to Dominican Republic and (besides the stares, smiles and winks from the Dominicans here) I didn't feel anybody in the airport was friendly enough thus evoking some fear. We walk out and are immediately bombarded by a man asking if we needed a taxi. I looked around to see if we could find our own taxi and of course not. lol. So, he took our bags and we got in this taxi that looked like a regular car. Needless to say, we were nervous as hell at the sketchiness of the situation and he didn't help when he reached into the taxi and asked for his tip (where they do that at? lol). Praise God for watching over us because our taxi driver was great and gave us a little tour so we could see where we were. Unfortunately, this entire area looks dumb sketch so I'm a little nervous about our stay here.

So, we get to our hotel and it's pretty decent and there's a nice restaurant downstairs and then the drama starts. ugh. We paid for the room but we needed a credit card for incidentals. 200 American freaken dollars! Unfortunately, I had to use my bank card because neither of us had a credit card on us and I'm praying to God that these bitches don't rob me. lol. Seriously though.

So, this is the beginning of our trip. We are off tonight to the restaurant downstairs and will probably just do some planning tonight because we don't know yet what to really do. Wish me luck!
